In 2004 Lauren moved to Haiti as a missionary teaching in Bible Colleges and an assundry of other activities. While there she found herself tripping over street kids begging for a goude (equal to about 3 cents American) because they were hungry and wanting food. She looked at these beautiful kids and thought, 'it’s not right that you’re hungry, lets feed you.'  What started out as a feeding program on the streets developed into a “rescue ministry” providing these kids shelter, education, medical attention, clothing and most important love and hope for the future.

Lauren  began focusing her time in Haiti helping the street children to live better and more productive lives by instilling love and hope for a better future.  She was able to do this by removing them from the violent streets of Haiti where they worked day and night begging for food and placing them in safe homes and environments where they could receive an education and be shown love and compassion.

After the devastating earthquake hit Haiti on January 12, 2010, the government, in an attempt to get the hundreds of thousands of people out of the tent cities, allocated land in an area of Haiti called Canaan. People started flocking there by the tens of thousands.  Lauren, with a local Haitian Pastor,  purchased land in Canaan and placed a shelter there for street-kids. Soon they saw the need for a school. Haiti has little public education so there are hundreds of thousands of children with no hope of going to school without outside help. They wanted to provide hope and light for these desperate families and it is here that God provided many life changing opportunities for the people in this community.

Besides their own Orphanage, School, Church, and Feeding Program, Here Am I Ministries, works with families, other orphanages and ministries in Haiti to provide the needs for suffering children.

Lauren is an ordained evangelist and missionary with RiversEdge International Fellowship and Church on the Rock International. She has a ministry in Haiti called Here Am I Ministries working with street children, local ministries and schools providing kids with shelter and an education. She is a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute.

Prior to moving to Haiti, Lauren served as Executive Assistant with COTRI. Prior to that, she had a successful career with the Zig Ziglar Corporation for eight years in sales and sales management. She ministers both nationally and internationally and is available for speaking engagements and conferences.
